Welcome Family

This is our start at a website that contains information about the families: Groothedde, Bouckaert, Redeker, Leslie and D’Amour and anyone connected to them. We are planning to place generic family information on this site and provide indivdual family members with their own genealogical information. Everything will definitely be free. We will also provide an acknowledgement page to those that have researched and collected this information over the years. We also hope to provide these pages in Dutch. Although born in the Netherlands, my Dutch is simply not good enough anymore to do justice to the translation and we would be looking for someone to volunteer for that.

We are all connected.

Yours in genealogy:    Marinus Groothedde and Lorna Groothedde-Leslie.

Hello cousin Petra, welcome. I noticed that your dad was missing from the picture on our front page so I added another picture. Just go to http://www.groothedde.com/groothedde/groothedde-images/ and have a look at the second picture. It has both your dad and my dad in it. You might have to hit the F5 key on your keyboard to refresh the page if you do not see it.

    Wat leuk deze site ?

  • Hi Marinus and Lorna.

    First of all great initiative!

Visiting ‘oma’ Bouckaerts and Antje Grootheddes grave in Doesburg frequently it’s good to realize again how their offspring has spread around the globe.
I even found a reference that great grandfather Groothedde and oma Bouckaerts (and their parents) were on the list for emigrating to Brasil. They never went but obviously a family member did go judging Petra Crin?

Anyway keep up doing the good work. All the support from the Doesburg Groothedde offspring.

Sander (mother Elly Vermeulen/grandmother Antje Groothedde)

  • Hi Marinus, great you’re doing this! Nice pics archive, also. Did you know that there’s actually a fairly complete Groothedde genealogy online? Here: https://www.gvanbinsbergen.org/Genealogie/Groothedde.html.

Cheers, Gerrit Jan Groothedde, eldest son of Lammert Groothedde, Almere, Netherlands (soon to move to France, though)

Thanks Gerrit. Yes we are aware of that website and have used that a a major source for the Groothedde Genealogy. We have all those individuals in our database and then some. We are also working on adding more pictures and adding those families related to the Groothedde’s.

    Hi Marinus,

What an interesting initiative you’ve set up. Over the past years I have gotten to know some (shards) of the genealogical history of the Groothedde family, and it is really nice to see someone puzzling it together.

I realise that this entry was posted more than a year ago, but should you still need any help with translating pages to Dutch, you can just reach out to me via e-mail, and I’d be more than happy to help you out!

In the mean time I’ll catch up with the information that has yet been provided on these pages.

    Kind regards,

    Rick

Hoi Rick. Zie je nou dat we familie zijn.
Hoe precies het zit weet ik niet hoor.
Leuk om eens uit te zoeken.

  • Nice idea to set up this site, Marinus. I’m writing in English because some members don’t seem to speak Dutch.

I’m a writer and a musician. My musical website can be found at http://superurl.nl/?King+Fred+II
My website containing stories and columns (Dutch only) can be found at http://superurl.nl/?Fred+de+Koning

congratulations for the work I was thrilled our Dutch roots were weakening and today we only have my aunt Preta Crins, I would like to help you in this work we have several new members descended from Joseph Marius Groothedde if you need send me an email and I can share inmates and photos.

In this lineage we still have Robert Marius Groothedde (my father, Petra Crins’ brother), I Oliver Marius Castro Groothedde (I have two children Flavia Martinez Groothedde and Daniel Marius Groothedde), my sisters Monique (no children yet) and Lara Groothedde (who was with her husband’s name being Groothedde her middle name she already has two children).

I loved your initiative, if you come to Brazil come visit us in Sao Paulo.
